Probably yeah lol. The better the condition the closer to half the price lost you get ;)

From looking around on ebay, Alu Watches also lose approx. half of their value in the first year. The loss is lower in absolute $, obviously, but relative to their price, the Alu Watches do not hold their value better.

That’s very true yeah. Apologies I was t trying to say they hold value better, just the lower cost means you don’t lose as much money. I don’t think it truly matters as most people I know keep an Apple Watch about 3 years between upgrades and is the reason my barely worth selling Series 2 will collect dust in a drawer. This is the main reason why the SS or above would never appeal to me as it’s the same product but more costly over the time it’s used.

I have only had SS and SBSS since S0. I’m considering getting a gps only Aluminium just to see how well it holds up for me.

Don’t waste your time on Craigslist (Or eBay for that matter). If you have social media, look at Facebook and terms of a ‘local selling group’, that seems to be lucrative and yet will find those two have profiles of those who can view local in your area.

Yeah, whenever when someone says the ‘sapphire display is scratched’, they tend not to post pictures. Perhaps post pictures for others to see if the scratches that you’re alluding to. I’m not indicating you’re being dishonest, but I question these scratches and what specific band you’re using in addition.
Right, so I actually posted pictures of my nine-month-old S3 here:

I guess the quality of the sapphire varies between production batches, but long story short:

S0 SS: owned about two and a half years; screen was perfect when I sold it.
S3 SS: owned about nine months; screen had numerous scratches (not from my Milanese band - I never wear it - and not from abuse - I'm very careful with my watch. Also, not just scratches in the oleophobic coating - these scratches could be felt with a fingertip. They were deep.
S4 SS: owned for about a year now; screen is perfect.

YMMV, but yeah - I've noticed significant differences in the scratch resistance of my SS Apple Watches over the years, the S3 being absolutely terrible.

I’m not really understanding this obsession of many here about needing the screen to be absolutely immaculate. My Series 2 has a few very light scratches on the screen if it’s tilted to the light and looked at very carefully. Not really bothered as after 3 years it’s in good condition and will spend the rest of its life in a drawer or thrown out.

I have OCD and need to visit a doctor, lol

Took your advice and it sold on facebook in a few days after posting.

Thanks!
