Take With or Leave Home?

I just returned from a beach vacation, and I took mine. However, it was kind of a waste of effort. I would not take it anywhere near the beach, so I only wore it in the mornings for my runs and then in the evenings for dinner. It was fun to have along, but it stayed in the room most of the time.

Even if you were away from the beach, I would not wear the watch while out in the sun. Wearing a watch in the sun gives you a really stupid looking tan.
I do have a tan line where my watch was :D

Personally, if I were going on a vacation where I would be spending lots of time at the beach, I would be coming here asking for ideas on how to protect the watch, but I wouldn't want to leave it at home. I bought the watch so I could enjoy it, not leave it sitting at home.

The mention of tan lines has me nostalgic for my high school days in LA. I would get tan lines on my wrist where I wore a watch, just from sitting outside while eating lunch.

The talk about operating temperatures is interesting. I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago, when the temp was 106-110 F and didn't think about the hazard to my watch. It did fine, but I'll have to consider that if I know I'll spend much time outside next time in those conditions. On the other hand, who wants to be outside at all when it's that hot? Not me!!!
