Awesome airplay

if there is one thing I am most satisfied with the new Apple TV compared to the previous generation, absolutely no lag on AirPlay with the new MacBook. Have been trying all kinds of video thrown at it this far, it has all been blazing fast.

That alone is a great upgrade from the previous version!

It's not just video either, I was playing Real Racing 3 via AirPlay and, maybe it's a placebo effect, but I'm sure it was better.

I played hit man sniper as well really good experience.. And mirroring from the MacBook is super smooth as well!

I haven't tried streaming games from my Mac yet, how was the picture quality?

AirPlay lag is definitely much improved, it is still there but much closer to real time and makes AirPlay gaming doable now to me. I did detect some low framerates though and it didn't appear as smooth as the ATV3. I'll text this again tomorrow.

Also, you can finally do precision fast forward and reverse in video. That was almost impossible on the old one with the underpowered single-core A5 chip.

I have a 5k iMac and am unable to AirPlay my 4K videos to the new Apple TV. I know the new ATV doesn't support 4K, but I thought that AirPlay would at least work and downsize them. The ATV gives an error message and the iMac just stops right away.
