So, today I went to the apple store because my ringer switch had broken off..
anyways, the genius told me normally this wouldn't be supported by the warranty but that he would replace it because it is a functioning button and it wasn't completely uncommon for this to happen.
He ran it through diagnostics ect. and he checked for water damage.. and my phone HAS seen water..
anyways, the genius tells me he has good news and bad news.
The bad news being that my phone was in fact water damaged, which I acknowledged. He then said he should have me go buy one at full price because of this. Then, much to my surprise, he said he would go ahead and replace it for me since my phone was still running fine and not affected by any water damage and that my problem was in fact completely unrelated to water damage.
Just thought that it was pretty awesome that he still gave me a new iPhone even though he knew it had seen water.
Just to note though, my phone was fine after the water damage, it didn't effect it at all and the ringer switch breaking obviously had nothing to do with the water damage, but still, after all the horror stories I hear about them and being super strict, i was pleasantly surprised.
