Awesome note

Hi,
was just wondering, can awesome note take over the job of the built in reminders app in iOS?

i know it can sync with it and i can create items through it.
but notifications just don't work
awesome note will only notify me when it's a to-do
if it's a reminder it will always come as a notification in reminders.

is this by design? it can't bypass reminders fully and do it's job? or do i have something wrong in my setup?

any help would be appreciated.
