Everybody appears to be relying on the estimated battery life, and not posting the ACTUAL battery life.

Sorry about that, I am at work and do not have the MPB with me. I will do a bit more research once I get home this evening.

Exactly! The "time remaining" indication is an ever-changing estimate, based on the current workload of your system. It will fluctuate up and down from minute to minute as your power demands change. It is not perfectly accurate, but only an estimate. The only true measure of battery life is to fully charge your battery, then measure the time while you run on battery under your normal workload until your Mac shuts down/sleeps from the battery being drained. There are many factors that impact your battery life. See the BATTERY LIFE FROM A CHARGE section of the following link for details, including tips on how to maximize your battery life.
The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.

AGAIN, for the second time I'm not just going by estimates. It was a qualitative observation in addition to the estimates.

For a computer that is under virtually no load, the estimates do seem off given the conditions. But again, thats not what im relying on. I'm going to the apple store tonight for an exchange.

So I did get return/replacement but since this was my third replacement they were a bit suspicious and tested things. They did see the battery estimate was extremely low and they did notice a uncommon drop in battery life in a short period of time. However their internal test software didn't show any sign of hardware issues. They also did notice the backlight bleed which I brought to their attention, but that wasn't why I returned it. My new replacement has 0 backlight bleed (or very little) and the battery seems much improved.

Now my only issue is the bottom is a bit creaky. I'm not going back there for a replacement thats for sure, but can this be resolved by unscrewing/screwing the bottom?

I just got a new 13 mbp yesterday.

Seems my battery life is not good. It is at 95% and says I have 4:05 remaining.

Is that normal or low?

Its impossible to know without you seeing how long the battery actually lasts, then we can tell whether it is a battery or calibration issue, or you need to look for a drain on the battery...

Suggestion, when getting a replacement goto I think they call it the setup table and go over everything before you walk out the door.

As for the battery life its supposed to be fixed in the next release of the OS. If not they can have this back.

I actually tested a dev build of 10.9.2 on the device I returned and there was no fix with the battery life. My new device on 10.9.1 now has no issues. I'm at 95% and its estimating 6.5+ hours. Realistically the percent is dropping like 1% every 5 minutes though. And yes I'm using Chrome.

I did the genius chat thingy online just to ask if the creaking was normal, and they said it wasn't. I said I didn't want another replacement device because I was pleased with this hardware and virtual 0 backlight bleed so they said it would be a super easy same day repair.
