Awful experience with new ipad

Softare updates refuse to install “failed to verify”. I have tried to re download the update, fail. Have tried to reset network settings, fail. Have formatted device... fail.

iCloud backup restore refuses to complete. 12 hours later, I had to manually kill it.

Hey Siri and Siri do not work... this iPad is a lemon.

Should I return it? I’m miserable and not happy.

DO you have decent WiFi. Without backups and restores are horrible. Even Siri likes great WiFi speed.

I love my 10.5!

Have you tried a different wi-fi or linked to your phone? Could be a bad antenna in the iPad or something else. Does it only do this at home? Are you on 10.3 or 11? Just curious, if was acting this way out of the box I woudl definitly take it in or just plain return it. (but depending on where you got it you wouldn’t want them to just rebox and resell it)

you're describing a wifi issue, not necessarily an iPad issue.

Try the upgrade from your pc.
If the fails (you have iCloud backup) do a hard reset and try again.

When you’re at the Apple store, you should make use of their fast WiFi to set up your new iPad Pro.

Go into an apple store, they will sort it out for you, if you really want to be organized, book a spot at the Genious bar at the Apple store!

OP, don't get worked up, if its defective, they'll replace it. If its other extenuating circumstances in having issues upgrading, they will help you out.

I actually experienced this on my iPhone 6s. The Hey Siri stopped working. This was a known software bug, and as of yesterday, the problem has been fixed by iOS 11.1.1 update.
