Hi, on the AWU how do I PERMANENTLY disable auto dim? I am not concerned with battery life. I want it to function like a normal watch and ALWAYS be on (same brightness) Believe it or not it’s very frustrating to flick my wrist and have to wait 1-2 seconds to see it fully bright. I’m older and don’t have the eyesight to see the dimly lit screen. I really hope u can help me with a work around.

Please help.

it's the ambient l.ight sensor kicking in, I'm to aware that there is a setting or that it is configurable.
Suggest to contact apple support

yea that’s what I heard with the new OS. I guess on some of the earlier ones there were work arounds. I wonder if the phone can’t go a day if it was set like that? So frustrating.

Have you played with the brightness setting and see if that helps? What I mean move it to highest brightness and what does it look like dimmed?
I’d still suggest to contact Apple support

Did you actually read OP 1st post???

Yes

If it’s taking a few seconds the watch has a issue, maybe a factory reset?

Illumination, I always run mine on dark mode and can still see it high noon doing 60mph down a logging trail, this is ether a issue for Apple and a bad watch, or a issue for a optometrist

Which watch do you have? What version of the OS does it have?

My Ultra is fully bright almost instantly once I flick the wrist.

I bought a week ago I have the latest OS. Mine is pretty quick, but I still can’t stand that one second pause. I don’t care about battery life. I just want it on 24-7

I think u guys are confused. I want it full brightness - 24-7 period! I’m guessing it’s mot possible

The Always On display does dim after a while. I don't think there's a way to go full 100% brightness the whole time. You might want to check the accessibility settings to see if there's something there you could fiddle with.

LOL - if the display NEVER went to AOD mode, you wouldn't get 24, much less 7 🤣

Besides charges depleting much faster the increased load on the battery will likely cause it to start reducing capacity much sooner. Auto Dimming parameters are set to values that Apple determined the best to let you see a bright display and preserve the watchs' battery.
