Hey!


Is there a way to install Tiger on a machine w/o DVD drive? Say i download Tiger from torrent can i burn it to a CD? or what version of tiger should i look for? I heard there was a version that install on CD not DVD..

hmmmm not legally , so adwise would be against forum rules ,
but you can buy a osx tiger cd set at ebay or craiglist , then you wont need a dvd drive

You need another PowerPC Mac. Connect guest (G4 w/o drive) to host via firewire. Then power up the guest computer while holding town "T" on the keyboard. Guest computer enters firewire transfer mode. Then on the host computer (which must have a DVD drive of course), reboot and hold down "C" to boot from CD drive... when you enter installer choose the guest hard drive of your G4 instead of the host's hard drive to install Mac OSX. (When installation is complete make sure to do all software updates via the host computer before disconnecting and booting host and guest up normally again.)
