yea, they seem to be pretty much the exact same thing, except run by two universities. i think our mandatory fun time was a bit shorter, but i always had a good time picking out and going to the same activities as my friends.
the requirements seem to be very similar too. if you dont mind me asking what did you get on the sat's? also what grade were you in when you took them. i got 500 verbal and 610 math at age 13. as for TIP sickness, i know exactly what you mean. i was pretty upset to leave all 3 years, but especially last year.
do you guys have r.a.'s and t.a.'s? i have a funny story about my t.a. and teacher. our t.a. was a girl in her early 20's and our teacher was a man in his mid/late 20's. so all the time people were pestering them about whether they were together and things like that (even though they always said they weren't) and it was pretty funny. on one of the last few days, our teacher tells us that he is gay and that is why him and the t.a. thought it was so funny when people kept asking them if they were together. it was pretty funny, but i dont know that i explained it very well.
Nah, it's fine. I got 620 math and 620 verbal in 7th grade, at the age of 12. Yeah, we had RAs and TAs, but the RAs were actually called RCs. That's a really funny story. I totally get the idea of it and how it could be so funny.
The MOST FUN mandatory fun ever was fingerpainting, and that was on the 2nd night. It was pure amazing. 2nd best was Charades.

actually, "smart kid camp" is loads of fun. probably the best three weeks of my life.
Yeah. It was pretty much the highlight of my summer... except for one trip I haven't gone on. I hope that will share the title.
And I act quite uninhibited at nerd camp.
Get a bunch of adolescents together and things will be uninhibited. Even for nerds. :p

where you going? i'm on my trip for the summer right now (california). i know what you mean about being uninhibited at nerd camp, i was always comfortable to speak my mind. anyways, do you really think of it as nerd camp? i tell my friends it is smart kid camp, because i havent met any stereotypical nerds at cty. most of the people were super cool (not that nerds arent cool).

Haha. We had "Fun with Dinosaurs" once. We made dinosaur cookies and colored (and watched a movie and played a lame game of "Truth or Dare"). It was intense. Only problem was one of my best friends didn't do it... and he ended up regretting that later. :(

Nah, I don't really think of it as nerd camp. Everyone calls it that, and it's more of a joke than we really think people are nerdy. There were a few kids in some of the math courses who would be seen sitting around playing games on their graphing calculator, but that was the worse. Everyone for the most part was really cool, and I liked it because you can say whatever you want without having to explain a bunch of stuff. The one night that showed the chillness/the oddness of TIP people was when I was sitting in a lounge with two of my guys friends. We talked about Communisim, conspiricies, religion, and how bored we were. And the guys tried to me to cuss at them. But I felt too mean. I'd say what they said back to them, but nothing more. It was, um, a funny and interesting night.

the mandatory fun times were always way better with your best friends. one day i finally convinced one of my best friends to come to basketball (my forte) with me. of course, that day the gym was closed so we played football (also fun :D ).

while i was still in public school, i would do my homework in class and then i would be one of the kids playing games on the graphing calculator. one 3 week "inductive and deductive reasoning" course got me through 3 years of math. its definitely a good thing i left public school. i always enjoyed using my full vocabulary at cty. thats a good story, and sounds like a magnificent evening. its nice talking about things that matter with intellectual equals and even better when they're your friends.
