Currently running PB2 (18A326h) and noticed that in System Preferences -> iCloud -> Back to my Mac is no longer an option that is available. Is this feature getting silently killed?

Hadn't noticed but it certainly appears that way. I noticed it wasn't showing up at work, but hadn't checked the problem yet. Technically features could be duplicated using remote management and file sharing under "Sharing" in system preferences, but that's certainly a disappointing removal. Seems like a function that requires minimal upkeep considering it's basically a GUI on those services plus remote IP sharing.

Where do you see it in DB3? It isn't showing up for me
Just got back home and looked at my iMac again. I was incorrect when I spoke earlier. I thought I had been looking at my DB3 partition earlier when in iCloud, and I had been in High Sierra.

Sorry for being incorrect and causing some confusion earlier. Chalk it up to doing too many things at once (earlier).

Ugh. It's a real bummer that Apple's removing it. I'm sure it had something to do with the demise of their Airport products.

I'll be the first to say that it's been a buggy feature in the past, but Apple actually made it super-reliable (for me anyway) in High Sierra. I haven't had a single problem using it since 10.13 was released, so it seems crazy to nix it now that it works consistently!

I just got a push notification on 10.13, saying that it was going away.

I use it to help my dad out from 300 miles away. Is TeamViewer the only other choice these days?

One of the alternatives they offer is Apple Remote Desktop...a $80 app. Are you kidding me? Otherwise, you need some sort of DDNS and a regular old screen sharing connection. What the heck apple.

Just received the notification from Apple about Back to My Mac going away. The only way I use this feature today is opening finder and in the sidebar is my home iMac and I click that and click "share screen" to take care of remote tasks like exporting FCP videos or uploading videos to YouTube via screen sharing.

I see "screen sharing" will be an option but I won't be able to access my iMac via Screen sharing remotely without setting some sort of NAT pass through on my router, right? Back to my mac was so easy to use because it required no tech-ery to get it working.
