Hi, I'm trying to buy another Mac with back to school promotion-
I'm trying to buy it in Delaware where there's no tax on the electronics. However I won't have time to go, so a friend of mine decided to go for me.

The question is, can someone else (who is NOT a student) buy Mac with back to school promotion with my ID? Would I have to give him like a grant letter? Or not possible at all?

Does anyone know? Thanks!

Only parents or brother/sister. Not sure on friends.

Your friend doesn't live in Delaware, does he? You could just order it online and have it sent to his house.

with your student id, def not possible. you may be able to swindle the specialist at the apple store by just having your friend log into your email, however.

I have bought things without ID, they trust me or I log into my email account. Seems to satisfy them.

Yea, I'd love to try- But from NJ to DE is pretty long drive of about 2 1/2 hrs. I just wanted to make sure- Maybe I'll try the email method-
