Usually by this time we have heard about a back-to-school sale I've read and heard nothing.

Anybody have any insight?

You're not even allowed to say "Back to School Sale" until at least August 1st!!

Good one! I looked back to last year and see that MacRumors had an article on July 1 and had the promotion running through September 9.

My daugther's 2008 MacBook is gasping and may make it until then. She will certainly need a new one for college this fall.

I'll keep on alert for something on the back-to-school sale on July 1 I guess.

And there I go saying it again!

So it's post July 1st and no mention of the back to school program. Waiting to pull the trigger for my daughters rMBP. Hopefully they didn't decide to scrap the program. It has consistantly started July 1st in the past few years.

I'm waiting too. But not too long. My daughter's MacBook died. The power cord says green but it will not start, with or without the power cord. We have to figure out how to get data from dead MacBook. So... we need a new rMBP ASAP!

Come on, Apple!

Just want the BTS sale to be announced. I need my Macbook Pro ... I start school on August 3rd!

There's still plenty of time. Worst case scenario, you can still get a pretty good student discount at BestBuy. The downside is that you're stuck to pick between the channel configurations. You won't be able to get something like say: 13 Retina Pro with 16gb because thats not on a stock model.

If that won't pose an issue, you could jump on the deal they have going on this weekend

Too bad I live in Canada.. We never get that kind of discounts here..! Or if we do, then I don't know where to look for them :p

What's the requirements for the going back to school sale?

From Apple.com-
Shop the Apple Store for Education, save up to $200 on a new Mac, and up to $20 on a new iPad. Education pricing is available to college students, students accepted to college, parents buying for college students, faculty, homeschool teachers, and staff at all grade levels.*

The back-to-school sale usually involves a $100.00 gift card in addition these discounts. Now we wait.

Clarification... I should say at least a $100.00 gift card, depending on your purchase.

A french apple news oriented website posted today something about the Apple Premium Reseller. Some of them started to offer the 0% interest rate if students buy their new mac with a financial program.

That website mentioned the Back To School sale would take place at the beginning of the school year, which is usually in September for most of us. Well now I'm scared. I start school in 3 weeks!
