I have some important txt messages I need to keep is there a way I can back up txt messages from one iPhone to another or do I just get a new SIM card and when I get home on my wifi just forward the txt messages from one phone to another?

Backup the old iPhone with itunes.
Plug the new iPhone to itunes and select restore from backup.
It's been that simple forever with all iphones.

so i go to plug my new iphone 6 into my pc and tried to restore my back up from my iphone and i get this message up on my pc screen
"To restore this iphone from its back up, you must first setup the new iphone as new and restore the software to the latest verison... when i was in bestbuy the customer service rep said it was all set togo so do i just reset the iphone 6 then?
