Back up just the SMS file?

I want to save certain txt conversations because they mean something to me, but I know that soon I will have to get rid of them if I can't figure this out.

I've searched all over and there are programs for using a Mac that make it pretty simple. The problem is that I'm on a PC.

Is there a way to save just the SMS files so that, once they're deleted, I can restore my phone w/o them but still have them somewhere safe? I'd prefer not jailbreaking, also.

I've searched all over Google for a couple of days. I even went through threads on here for the last hour. I don't know if there isn't a way, or if I am just missing something...

If you wanted (if the conversations were short), you could just screenshot them and save them on your PC....

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to just back up certain parts of the phone.
