Some task is trying to access the internet.
    its called Backburner manager
from what I read it is part of the AutoDesk Maya software I have installed.

Ive checked "login items" in system prefrences, and there is nothing in /Libray/Startupitems

How is Backburner getting launched automatically? is there another startup items folder?
how do I shut it off?

Look in this folder. That may need to be running to keep using Maya though.

    /Library/LaunchDaemons/
