All off. No need to let Facebook and freemium games run rampant. I'm less worried about battery and more worried about data usage since I have 6gb to share with the rest of my family.

If this works as advertised, they shouldn't run rampant. The OS observes how often and when you use these apps and provides sporadic updates when it thinks that you will open the app soon. If you very rarely open these games, the background refresh shouldn't affect these apps much. In other words, the OS optimises itself. Of course, when you don't need it at all for specific apps, you can turn it off to save perhaps a tiny bit of battery.

off for me...

I really dont see a point as loading up the app you want to use will automatically update itself...

It depends really. I always found the slight delay very annoying when opening apps like WhatsApp. It is nice that WhatsApp can refresh itself when it receives a push notification.

Surprising to me how many of you have it disabled. Why? In my own testing of it the hit to battery life is next to nothing. What is the motivation to disable it?

Facebook is notorious for not always following Apple's developer rules and letting their app run rampant in terms of battery and data usage. It's safe to say Background App Refresh with fb is probably the same. Plus I access it fairly often throughout the day, so it would end up constantly refreshing. As for freemium games, the one I was thinking off was My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic which had problems with running rampant even on iOS 6.
