Background pattern?

I'm this (imagine my fingers really close together) close to selling my Macbook right now... You see, every Macbooks comes with a very faint background pattern in the top of the screen made up of every other pixel beeing a bit darker. It's barley visible. But not on mine. I can see mine quite clearly, especially in grey and white areas.. However, Apple, without even taking a look at the computer, claims this is normal (in swedish: "det ska vara såhär", english: "this is they way its meant to be").

How many of you Macbook owners have had (or have) this problem? Did you manage to convince Apple to replace your screen?

just imagine a chessboard pattern, were the dark pixles are subsituted by this "faint" but clearly visible grey.

I had that criss cross pattern and the Apple genius immediately ordered a new display for it. It should not be visible, even if it might always be there if you look at it from extreme angles... tell them that "så ska det inte alls vara"
