Background playback not working?

Try this: open a youtube video in Safari and start playing it. Switch application and in the multitask bottom bar click play. Nothing happens.
Is it just me?

As far as I know, you could never play the audio from a video in the background. I could be wrong, though.

Yes, in iOS 5 it was possible. I believe it's a bug, otherwise why would you see the Safari icon as the playing source?

Still works fine for me on my 5.
