Hello,

I want to back up my Wii game discs before they get damaged. My MBP spits out the discs, so how do I back them up?

I don't want to burn a copy - I want a backup on an external hard drive.

Copying Wii (or xbox/PS3) discs is well outside of the scope of this forum. Plus, it's kinda illegal ;)

Just keep your discs in a safe place where they won't be damaged!

Illegal??? Why should it be any different than backing up any other disc I own? DVDs get used. They get scratched. They get damaged. Then sometimes they don't work any more. I paid lots of money for those discs, and it shouldn't be illegal to make a digital backup in case something happens to the original!

These questions are rhetorical, and not meant to be answered. They are meant to cause others to think about them and the laws that are in place that makes such an activity illegal.

It can be done..although way more trouble than it's worth...especially if you've actually bought the originals. :)
