Problem:
You boot up Windows, connect it to the Internet and get viruses. You're too busy to go through the registry to clean up the mess, and are concerned that you'd miss something anyway and leave your files exposed to any Internet nasties. However, reinstalling Windows is also an issue -- all applications and updates have to be reinstalled, there may be activation issues, etc.

Solution?
Would it be possible to go into Mac OS X and use disk utility to create a disk image of the freshly-installed but fully-configured Windows partition (presumably it would have to be formatted fat32). Then, whenever you encounter a problem use disk utility's 'restore disk image' option to just wipe the partition and restore your nice clean installation quickly and hassel-free.

.. ... .....

I don't have an intel mac to try this out on (fingers crossed for a macbook announcement, though). Has anyone actually tried this? Do you think it would work? Or would some files (registry, or something?) get corrupted or lost in the process?

Any insights you all have would be appreciated.
