Buy a firewire external HDD and you can do a backup (a selective backup is best, in that you only back up those files you want).

Check in System Preferences, there is a Time Machine pane. Also, if you haven't set up TM before, I believe that you will be prompted to create a TM volume when you plug in a blank external Hard Drive.
