Backing up my bookmarks via SSH

so what is the easiest way to do this so i could save my bookmarks, jailbreak, then restore my bookmarks back?

i dont want to restore in itunes via a back up of my phone i want to start withfresh off the latest firmware which is why im asking - as i dont want to lose my bookmarks in the process everything else like email and settings ill do that manually

and photos ive saved them already

In ~/Library/ backup the Safari folder. It contains everything you need. Then replace it to restore.

Hmm actually tried that and looks like I might have lost them, theyre not appearing on my phone. 🙁

they should replace the default files in private/var/mobile/Library/Safari right?

if thats not working is there anyway I can at least see the list of these bookmarks in the bookmarks.db file - so I can maybe retreive some manually or am I sol?
