Hi all, i normally sync my iPhone with my desktop. But right now I'm away from home for the next month.

I want to backup my iPhone with my laptop, and the two have never been paired before. I'm not concerned about losing my music and apps as they are replaceable. But I am extremely concerned about losing my calendar and contact info. How can I best ensure that the laptop will properly back up what is on my phone and not overwrite anything?

Thank you

I just did the same thing. I upgraded to iOS5 and lost all my music and apps, but prior to the update iTunes does a backup and then restores all contacts, calendars, emails, etc. Purchased or downloaded items need not apply, though.

Do not let you phone sync with the new computer. Just right click on your phone and do a backup and the same to restore. Just uncheck all sync functions

Back up and restore work perfectly on another computer
