Hey guys,

Just wanted to see what people think about this. I have a 500GB and 160GB internal. I now use the 500GB for OS X and just about everything else. I use the 160GB for Movies and any other type of large data files (Linux .iso's to name a few). What I wanted to do is as follows:

Partition the 500GB into a 250/250, where one of them will be for OS X et al, and the other will be replacing the purpose of the 160GB. I could do this several other ways, but my main question is...I want to use the 160GB as a backup drive. I have a lot of music, which would kill me to lose. Is it okay to use an internal drive as a backup? I know it's technically okay, but is it smart?

The other option I have is buying an IDE drive for my external F/W enclosure. Just trying to save pennies I guess.

Thanks.
