Yes, but once you see your PowerBook screen slowly fade out to a dim and the keyboard fade into a white glow, you will understand the power of coolness.

Exactly. There are times though, when there's just enough light to drown out the backlight even when it's fully cranked.

The backlit keyboard is the best feature ever

I'm always editing video late at night on my 15" and there is no new feature on this laptop with more practical value than the backlit keyboard, for me, anyway. 'Cause you're always hitting command-key combinations. The backlight's not as bright as I'd like, but it's still ultra handy. The next best thing? I love having the ports on the side!
