The lack of backlight on the standard aluminium Mac Pro keyboard sucks bigtime, are there any USB full size backlit keyboards (with numerical pad) that are close to the standard aluminium one in terms of key travel?

Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

I can't answer the key travel question, but I've been using the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard for years and love it - I use it with a MP3.1 and several other computers via a KVM switch. BTW, I got the Logitech because my wife complained that the Apple keyboard was too noisy during late night typing!

I believe this is the newer model. Worth a look.

Curious, what key do you use to emulate the Command Key?

Hmmm, finally someone does a nice looking keyboard and black, and backlit...but, is it wired or Bluetooth? No indication from website.

It doesn't make sense that apple can't take their MacBook Pro backlit black key keyboard and make an aluminum (make it dark like upcoming Mac Pro) Bluetooth version of it WITH 10-key. That's what I really want!

But thx for posting, the Moshi is the best looking one I've seen...and I recently got their aluminum capped ends lightning cable, a quality product!

Yeah, it seems like the best choice to accompany a new Darth Vader Mac Pro. Agreed that Apple has dropped the ball on their keyboards and other accessories. White keys don't make any sense since they went aluminum and black on all their computer products.

My guess is Apple will be refreshing the keyboard and mouse soon to compliment this change.

I have the "PC" version of this keyboard, only difference is the label on the bottom keys (Ctrl, FN, Super, and Alt from Left to Right instead of Fn, Ctrl, Alt, CMND). I really enjoy this keyboard, the selling point was that you can sync it with three different bluetooth computers. Right now I have it synced to my iMac (one sync works across OS X and bootcamp), and my second is synced to my iPad. Works quite well.

No sure what you're seeing when you go to the website, but I see three pictures in the row of thumbnails that show a USB cable.

If it were wireless I would have thought they'd mention it prominently somewhere, so it may just be wired only.

That Logitech keyboard looks nice, but the same size as the current Apple wireless keyboard which is unfortunate, I'm looking for the same thing as the OP but specifically in a wireless keyboard. I may just have to re-evaluate whether I really need the keypad, but I actually type with the keyboard resting on my legs so I need the extra width, though I could get a tray or something I suppose ;)

I use this. It's full size with all the keys. Wireless. Chiclet keys like the Apple keyboard.

There is a Mac K750 which has Mac-centric keys, but it is silver and looking at the two in person, I prefer the black.

EDIT: Whoops, I forgot the backlit requirement. It's not backlit.

Pretty sure the Moshi Luna doesn't have USB ports on the side like the Apple aluminium one does, so using the USB Mighty Mouse with this keyboard would be out of the question :(

Nice one, it's even got the Mac layout with the CMD/ALT/CTRL keys! Anyone tried one?
Looks like they only just started selling it.

I couldn't resist ordering one as it looks so gorgeous plus all the other facilities are great. It's what the Apple wireless keyboard should be. It's $139 with free delivery to me in the UK although I will probably have to pay VAT & customs when it arrives. I haven't bought any upgrades for my Mac Pro recently although TBH there isn't much more I can sensibly add to a 2008 3.2GHz octa-core 3,1.

Matias keyboards get high praise from many Mac fanatics here in Canada. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one but I had just replaced my aluminum Apple extended wired keyboard when they announced this new Matias keyboard. :(
