Backordered until after the 24th?

After waiting online for 3 hours yesterday at the AT&T store, the store said that anyone after this point..there is a chance you won't receive your phone until sometime between June 25th-28th.

Just wondering is this is guaranteed or if there is still a chance I will get it on launch date.

Apples site says July 14th now, so who knows.
