Hey guys. I ordered my iMac day after Thanksgiving from Adorama and have my ordered backordered by Apple. Item ships directly from Apple. My configuration is: i7 4.0/2tb fusion/m395. Pretty standard config.

I got a pretty good deal. $2450 including a new apple TV. Its $2599 on Apple website w/o Apple TV.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

1) Ordered Friday 11/13/15

2) Order processed and charged to my CC on Monday 11/16/15

3) Followed up with a call to Adorama Monday 11/23/15 to see if they had any shipping information. I had not received any emails in the 7 days since the drop order was processed.

4) The Adorama rep had a Fed Ex tracking number and the iMac arrived Tuesday 11/23/15 from Fremont, CA. The iMac had been shipped 11/19/15 from the Apple Fremont plant.

So in summary I had to call Adorama to get tracking information. The order was shipped 3 days after my drop order processed and arrived 8 days post drop ship order (Colorado).

To answer my own question, I got it today! Ordered on 11/27. Charged on 11/30. Shipped on 12/4. Arrived today on 12/9.

I hope this helps for any ordering from Adorama or other 3rd party places (e.g. B&H). Before this experience I thought they kept their own warehouse inventory. Now I know they are just middlemen. I wondering how they make money selling computers for much less than going directly from Apple. You don't get certain customization (e.g. if you want the wired keyboard or swap Magic mouse for Touchpad), but getting this computer and Apple TV for $300 less is a good deal (no such thing as bargains on new iMacs).

Yeah, both adorama and B&H are great companies. As a photographer I swear by em.

I wonder the same thing, but either way, both are great companies and I've purchased equipment from both.

Congrats on your new iMac :)
