Hey,

I have a iPhone 4 and I want to upgrade it to iOS 5, but I'm on a 4.1 jailbroken firmware. I'm afraid I will lose important information. I want to back up my important stuff. such as Contacts, Notes, and specific non jailbroken apps. If I "back up" my iPhone with itunes and when I upgrade to iOS 5, I restore it with the back up will it restore all the regular apps? or is there something I can do to backup specific apps? Once I do upgrade it I won't jailbreak it...for now, so AppBackup is out of the question.

Thanks

First, make sure to backup and sync your iPhone with your computer. This should save all your contacts, notes, apps, settings, etc. None of your jailbreak stuff will be saved (unless you back them up with xbackup or something).

Upgrade your iPhone through iTunes. After its all done, it should automatically put all your info and non-jailbreak apps back onto your device. If it doesn't, right click your iPhone in iTunes and restore from your backup.
