Why the latest version of iTunes don't show the percentage of the backup.

That was very useful because you could see the time left to make the backup, now you have to wait and wait without and idea of when it will end.

Or is there a way to view the percentage in the latest iTunes versions? I could not find any way to see that.

To be fair, a percentage won't tell you much more than the progress bar. Now if you are talking about some sort of an estimate of remaining time, that's something that would tell you more.

What you see means the backup does not even start. If you see this for too long, perhaps you could try to clear old backups.

If backup is started, you could see a progress bar until finished or encounter an error.

Thanks for your reply. The issue I have was that my iPhone was low on available storage and that was the reason that I can't make the backup and the percentage bar never appear.

Also I always get an error saying that I can't make a backup because the iPhone was disconnected. After deleting some files in the iPhone I have no issues with the backup.

I think that it is an error from iTunes and the iPhone not showing the exact reason on why you can't make the backup. If you don't have enough available space in your iPhone to make a backup with a simple message it could be enough to understand the problem and fix it.

I hope that this thread helps some one with the same issue to understand what they have to do to make the backup. Remember that you need at least over 1GB to make the backup or you will get this error message:
