Now that I have updated my first Gen iPhone to the 2.0 software I noticed that the phone does a backup with every sync. The problem I am having is that this backup is taking over an hour to complete. I tried restoring the iPhone just to find out that the backup was corrupt and that apps that I downloaded to the phone itself never transferred to iTunes even after I told them to at the prompt. So I have lost many apps and saved data on the ones I did not loose. Backing up after the restore still takes over an hour. Is anyone else seeing any of this?

Something I forgot to mention is that the iPhone seems to reboot it self very often now.

    Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A347 Safari/525.20)

This is an issue with the 2.0 software. To answer your question about the Apps, the apps only transfer after the backup has completed and before the phone or iPod touch syncs. If you lost some Apps you should be able to redownload from the App store for free. You will not have any of the saved data with them. If you go to the App in the App Store and click on it as if you were buying it, you will get a prompt that says something to the effect of you have already purchased this App would you like to download it again for free. Again all of your saved data for your apps, even the ones that you didn't loose, is probably gone. I hope all of this helps.
