I just got a new 27" iMac with 500 GB SSD drive (OSX 10.9.1). I'm keeping the bulk of my data (video, music, photos) in an 4TB Thunderbolt drive. It's a Promise Pegasus J4 with four 1TB 2.5" drives configured as Striped RAID. I also have a 4TB Lacie d2 Thunderbolt drive I want to use for backup. I'd like to backup the Pegasus drive to the Lacie. What's a good program to use? I've never used Time Machine; is that a good choice or should I stay away from it?

In addition, I plan to setup Arq to backup to Amazon Glacier. For other day-to-day files, which don't amount to much disk space, I'm going to use Jungle Disk. I have Jungle Disk on several computers and I'm very happy with it.

Time Machine will work just fine for this. By default Time Machine excludes external drives from backup, so you will need to go into Time Machine options and remove the J4 from excluded list. After that the data on the J4 will be included in the backups to the Lacie.
