Backup Software? (External HDD)

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to buy a external USB2 for my PPC Mac Mini, which is running the latest 10.4. I was wondering what good backup software there is for backing up photos, music, documents and specific folders (Mail and so forth).

And one that*provides easy restoration - and have scheduling feature obviously!

I like Carbon Copy Cloner, with a firewire drive you can make bootable backups.

PS. My iBook never seemed to like my external USB drive, you may wan't to look into any Mini/ext. USB problems?

Not true.

Backup *can* make backups to the user's .mac account, but it *also* schedules backups to external drives, DVDs, etc. I use it for daily backups to .mac, and weekly to my external HD. Works great.

You may also want to look at SilverKeeper, a free program from LaCie.

Silverkeeper works great for me. It also allows you to make bootable copies. Sadly I have a USB2 drive so that doesn't really help me!

About .mac: I think you have to have a .mac account to use the program right?
