Backup/Sync free program

Hi guys,

I used to use Goodsync to backup files from one folder to an external drive, but now they want 50€ for it, is there a free/cheaper good alternative?

Having drives A and B, I want to make changes to drive B ONLY.

A is the drive I use, and I want to have a copy of it (B). I want the program to compare the 2 and change drive B, NOT drive A.

Any ideas?

Anything that wraps rsync (assuming you don't want to just run rsync) will do what you want.

You might also take a look at FreeFileSync.

Hi dwig, thanks, FreeFileSync looks great, I've used it in the past, but I get permissions issues:

Cannot write permissions of "/Volumes/bckp/lum/jpg_test.7de3.ffs_tmp".

Error Code 1: Operation not permitted [chown]

Hi dwig, thanks, FreeFileSync looks great, I've used it in the past, but I get permissions issues:

Error Code 1: Operation not permitted [chown]

just add it as a filter *_tmp , see the red filter button on left hand side, if that's the only file giving you trouble
