I need some advice regarding my next backup solution. Previowsly, Ive been using Western Digital Anywhere backup, wich is a gret software and Im happy with it. Recently, when I changed hard drives, I started using Time Machine. I noticed that Time Machine slows downs my system a bit when backing up. In adition, it does not offers continous backups.

So, Im about to upgrade my MacMini hard drive to 500GB SSD, and Im not sure how to set my next backup solution. In order to be safer, Im planing on having 2 backup destinations. Currently I own, all external storage:

-750GB USB drive (will be conected to the MacMini, wich is my main computer)
-1,5 TB Ethernet drive (I will probably use this one to backup my macbook and my Windows gaming PC also)

Should I set WD software to make both backups to both drives, or should I use WD to backup 1 drive, and Time Machine to back the other?

Not sure what you mean by continuous backup. TM backs up every hour and is basically doing an incremental once the initial backup is done. I backup to an external 1TB firewire drive with no slowdowns using TM.

Continous is done by the WD software. the second you change something, create a file, etc, its automatically backed up. I know, time machine is hourly. For some reason, when the backup is happening, its slows down my system, I believe its because of hard drive acess. I hear a lot of noise, I hope to resolve that with an SSD. Im using a USB external drive.

It seems TM will fill whatever disk you point to it, so I'd have TM backing up to its own drive. I tried using my WD external that stores my media as a TM backup, but that didn't last long.

I ended up going with Crashplan+ to backup my media offsite and I'll be getting the 2 TB Time Capsule for TM backups.
