Backups aren't affected by sync settings right?

For example if all my syncs settings are turned off in iTunes, when I backup my phone iTunes will backup EVERYTHING right? One has nothing to do with the other right?

I want to make sure my apps are 100% saved in their current state because I'd hate to lose the app data.

Is there a way to test that data for a SINGLE app has been actually saved?

Also I know there is another feature called app forwarding. I use it sometimes instead of backing up because for me app data in Address Book and other apps is more important than any of my other info like mail settings etc and with app forwarding I can see the actual apps being sent to iTunes on the fly.

Thanks

In theory, your data is backed up. But if you read this forum enough, you'll see that most people expect perfection. However this is not possible, as you can tell by the many complaints you'll read.

So before you do anything, make a backup and then manually verify you have all of your .ipa files on your system. As for the settings for each app...I'm not sure. I've always been able to save my data from them with no problems.
