Hi,

I would like to get some opinions on how I have my drives setup and see if anyone else would recommend something better.

I have a Mac Pro with the default 320GB drive. I am using this for my boot drive and plan on keeping many of my files on it. In addition, I have installed 2x500GB drives and created a RAID1 array with the disk utility. I'm going to keep my pictures on this array.

I was going to enable Time Machine and configure it to monitor both the boot drive and the RAID 1 array (4th drive is 1TB).

Is this is a good strategy ... allowing a single drive failure for my pictures in addition to keep a time machine backup?

My other question / concern is if my boot drive fails, will the drive array be OK and available once I reinstall my boot drive (even if I do a clean install of it)?

Thanks,
-chris
