Weaselboy Moderator Staff member Mar 28, 2014 #2 Are you referring to the purple area here? That is space used by Time Machines local backups and you can just ignore it. OS X manages the space and will shrink it when your disk reaches 80% full. If you want, you can turn Time Machine off then back on and it will zero that space.
