badly need help-Can't transfer my apps from iphone 3G to iphone 4

hey all

anybody know how to get my current apps on my current Iphone 3G onto my iphone 4? i couldn't seem to do it. All it does is download apps that I had saved ages ago.

I will be really pissed off if I can't get my current ones on there as I paid for some of these and don't want to download them all over again.

I tried to back it up but didn't work on my new phone....any help would be good.

It seems to backup my Iphone 3G fine but when i went and put my new micro sim in it doesn't download my recent ones just old ones.

I'm still waiting for my iphone 4 to be activated, does that have any effect on why i can't download my current ones?

Connect your iPhone 3 to your computer.
In iTunes, go to Files and click on "Transfer purchase from iPhone"

so once that is done do I connect my iphone 4 on my computer and then click sync iphone in itunes to get all my apps on my new phone?
