Is there a way to block the Political news section of the site from appearing on the main page? I can see new posts under the Macrumors.com news discussion section, and I can see Latest media items from political news too. I don't think I can see new Post from it in Latest Posts though, but I want it completely hidden from view. Spy too if possible. I searched around for a way to block it like you can PRSI but found nothing. A lot of these threads go down the same as PRSI so I think a block should be there too. I don't want to see anything political on this site

From the forums, you can ignore this forum:

We segment poiltical news posts in that way in the forums.

there is presently no way to block it from the www site. We are reluctant to post overtly political posts on the front page but in cases like this, it’s hard to ignore what is clearly major National news.

Sorry, I should've made clear that I meant the main forum list not the main www. So used to using the forum list that it is basically the main page to me...

It could just be that it still shows old items from before I ignored it, because I can still see the posts from the big thread in Spy if I scroll down, and same with latest media. Nothing new though and I assume it is just showing from before I ignored. Thanks.

I have requested the same of another website I often use and the reply was similar to the official reply you received, unfortunately.

It comes down to the fact that those types of articles are the way websites pay their bills. That's the way the cookie crumbles, I guess.

It does not seem to be working properly for me. I still see the New posts in Spy and under the news article discussion. It could be that it takes a bit of time to apply/kick in, I recall this being the case with the PRSI block. threadlist.png
Probably don't need a screenshot but in case here it is

That's New Posts. re spy. I'll have to wait until someone posts.

I do not see it in New Posts, but I do in the Spy. Will have to see if more posts from it come in, but it seems to me that the Spy remains unaffected.
