What are those bands you guys have hidden on your iPod and in iTunes you're not that eager to play for friends?!

For me, it's Howie Day and Goo Goo Dolls . . . I gotta keep around the POD, Pillar, Megadeth just reassure myself at times... ;)

i am laughing at myself...

i am laughing at myself right now, that i am admitting this. i got one song from one band that i would hate showing my friends.

oh, where was i? wham! - wake me up before you go go

well, i have an excuse for this. i find the movie zoolander sooo cool, and the song was played in the movie.

I have no idea what the movie Zoolander is actually about, though of course I've certainly heard about it. For some reason I always think of Jumanji (spelling?) when I hear the name, and it takes me a minute to realize that's not right, hehe. I imagine the two are quite different...:)

Not really ashamed, but I've had a soft spot for Kim Wilde since the 80's. Not exactly my normal style of music, but it might be her attempts at riding the New Wave with those early hits that made me notice her in the first place.

She's got an excellent voice and quite a number of good songs, and she's the only pop artist I really like, though there has been the occasional pop tune that curiously I found myself liking from others, but that's for another thread... ;)

ha ha - there's lots of songs in my itunes library that are embarassing. If my friends see how high the playcount is for a cr*p song, then I usually lie and say its because my wife and I share our music. In fact thats not true because we have our own accounts, playlist, ipods and the playcounts are totally separate.

Oh yeah, forgot to say..

I really like the Velveteen album by Transvision Vamp, and also Video Killed the Radio Star is quite high up in my most played songs for some reason.

robbie williams...

this is more embarassing here in the states- got the impression while visiting london that he's a much more acceptable artist over there...

Rammstein.

I really should have got over them when I turned thirteen...
Yeah, well how do you think I feel? I'm 28 and still not over them...
but ashamed to admit this one? nah...
on the other hand...
Britney Spears...oh yes...so very ashamed
Madjew...I do believe I have you beat

I was showing someone, who knew nothing of an iPod, my iPod and iTunes. Was asking me for a good gift for her husband. SHe was awed by it and my iBook too. (Think I have another switcher here) She was clicking around my library and stumbled across my 70s Crap playlist. How embarassing...

Carpenters
Starlight Vocal Band- Afternoon Delight
Terry Jacks - Billy Don't Be a Hero.

That's all I'm willing to admit. Hangs head in shame.

oh...wow... :D

Mine would have to be It Never Rains in Southern California by Albert Hammond. Then there's Into the Night by Benny Mardones. A David Cassidy tune - I Think I Love You. And Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations (wasn't that in a movie recently?). And two tunes by Gilbert O'Sullivan. I guess these aren't really so bad, they just remind me of summers as a little kid listening to AM radio.

Song-wise, I really love "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring, "Round and Round" by Ratt, and "Turn up the Radio" by Autograph. Most of my embarassing songs are one-hit wonders from the 80's.

Oh yeah, and I like ABBA (sometimes).

Well... can't say for sure on myself... but I had a friend in college that liked Vanilla Ice (in 1998!). He went to a concert when his latest album came out and was able to sing along to all the songs. I don't think anyone gave him any guff... He was a 6'2" built rugby player.

I have some Goo Goo Dolls, but also some songs from the soundtrack of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." To be honest, though, I really keep them around for my wife, as our song ("Feels like home") is on the album.

I. love. MUSICALS!!!
I have Rent (the movie one.. now THAT'S embarrassing), Grease, West Side Story (movie AND broadway), Fame, Kismet, and this AWESOME opera by Shostakovich.

Don't be ashamed to admit it. :)
(unless of course, it's the crappy movie version.. oh no.. oh no.. so bad the singing! ;) )

but I'm ashamed of all my gangsta rap.
No, really. I have some gangsta rap in my iTunes.

A girl's gotta know when it is appropriate to sip her gin and juice.

with my mind on my money and my money on my mind...

Only if you have three totally different Britney Spears MegaMixes, the shortest one being twelve minutes.

It is so nice to hear that I am not the first one to have one of these.

Anyway I mentioned Jamiroquai to one of my "music obsessed" friends and they nearly lost their lunch. I still think he's good.
