Hello,

Just recently I have noticed banner ads on many websites on safari iPad. The banner ads are at the bottom of screen and covers part of the website. When scrolling the ad disappears only to reappear when you stop scrolling. I have only started having this issue in past week.

I tried clearing cookies and unfortunately that closed all my tabs in safari and no way to relaunch. The tabs were added to over a period of time so can't easily find them in history. Anyway this didn't solve the problem.

I am on iOS 9.3.5

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I use a content blocker, I don't see ads anymore. I thinK i use Purify.

Anyway, hopefully your DNS from the ISP doesn't inject these ads. Perhaps consider switching to google's open DNS and check again?

Is it all the time or on certain websites. I know a lot of websites have the annoying ads

It only happens on certain websites but what is strange is it has never happened before and only started in last week or so. I noticed it on websites that I visit multiple times a day and have never had a banner ad like this before. At the same time I noticed it on other websites that I don't regularly visit so don't know if it is normal or not on those websites. The ad covers the bottom of the screen and has an (x) to close it but it just reappears the next time you visit the webpage or click on a link. I can deal with ads on websites but I find this to be rather invasive on a small screen.

P.s. I just noticed this old thread talking about similar issue but the ads were actually on the macrumours website:
