Well, Astley said he didn't want to profit from the phenomenon at all, so, I doubt we'll see that.

LOL Rick rolling was actually on NPR this morning. Apparently some guy financed a bid for a state congressional seat almost entirely through a ridiculous website with rickrolls and XKCD style comics, asking internet ppl for $8.34 each to finance his campaign. And it workded!

    That video was great. :)

Possibly the greatest Obama video to date.

Does anyone remember when Bremner, Bird and Fortune (might not have been them) did something like this for Blair and Brown? Blair did "Things can only get better"?

I'm guessing that he just searched the transcripts of Obama's speeches for lyrics in the song, found the corresponding clips, and pasted them together.

I mean, it would take a long time if he watched all of his various speeches and then just listened for words that appear in the song.

Admittedly, the song Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, isn't awefull as far as 80 pop music goes.

BUT --- the voice and the face seem so out of place ... I guess I don't expect someone that looks 16 to sound like he's into his 30's.

Add to that the dancing -- which again ... is awefull even by 80 standards.
