I was mistaken... From the site:
13.99%, 19.99% or 26.99%, based on your credit worthiness.

This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

When I had one, it was 24%, but I made sure it was paid off by the time it said to.

Yes thats a lot better. But as you and others have mentioned, if you're paying it off before whichever APR hits it doesn't matter.

Walmart

When you get the card, can you give it a try in the chip slot at Walmart? They're the only major retailer that's actually turned on chip support so far.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been searching for almost a year for a merchant that actually supports Chip and PIN actively. Many have the slots but the clerks always say it is not turned on. I don't typically shop at Walmart but will give that a shot first thing.

Although I disagree vehemently with Walmart's Apple Pay stance, my curiosity will get the best of me.

Both Walmart and Sams Club have terminals that accept the chip cards. I have used mine at both stores.

The Barclaycard Sallie Mae Mastercard may be a better option than the Blue Cash or the Apple Card. 5% off Gas (250/month) 5% off Groceries (250/month) and 5% off bookstores including Amazon (750/month).

Also the Citi Doublecash or Fidelity Amex gets you 2% back on all purchases.

For a big signup bonus, check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Ink Plus Card.

Discover has 5% this quarter on all online purchases. I just wish they would throw in 0% offers every now and then. I typically use this card for their quarterly promos only.

I mostly use my Amex Premier Gold card. It has a $175 annual fee but I usually call up and they give me an extra 25,000 points. I also have a no pre-set spending limit. I can check my purchase acceptance online or through their app. I like this card because it forces me to pay in full and makes me think about the purchases more before buying. Only downside to this card is that the swipe wears out quick :D

Lastly I have my Visa card which has 3,2,1% cash back. I use this for when Discover/Amex is not accepted.

I called Amex up a few times but they never give any bonus points. What's your secret? I have the gold premier and I had a platinum card that I recently cancelled.

Terrible

I just ordered up this credit card, and it is completely worthless.

First off, if you want to make a 0% APR purchase at Apple, this can only happen within the first few weeks of getting the card.

While I applaud them for finally using a Chip and PIN technology, the first transaction you make abroad has to be Chip and Signature, and then the PIN will activate. But they charge a 3% foreign transaction fee; outrageous.

The interest rate is crappy and you're really only making points if you're spending money in an Apple store. For most normal transactions you'd have to spend $2500 to get a $25 Apple gift card. Even if you buy at Apple, you'd still need to spend $833 at Apple to get one of those gift cards. Although what's the point if you can't get the 0% APR and now you're paying off the card at round 20% APR.

I was given a piddly credit line despite excellent credit.

In short, I'm really disappointed in this mediocre offering by Barclaycard and Apple. There are far better cards out there with far better rates and rewards.
