Not too impressive
I kind of expected poor initial results. Hopefully Apple and Intel will swiftly bring out better drivers because I'm sure this is the only thing holding the GMA X3100 back. Fingers crossed!
P.S. Just don't expect these drivers to turn it into a GeForce 8600 beater.
Benchmarks in windows with bootcamp would be interesting, maybe the windows drivers are more optimized.
Woot. It looks like the MacBook can finally play Halo better than my rev.A 12" PowerBook from early 2003...
Haha, I love getting 20 FPS in a game I have about 8 times the specs for on my macbook (MoHAA/SH)
Wholeheartedly agreed. Since Bootcamp is now standard and the majority of games are Windows-based, this would probably be more meaningful.
I was really hoping for better performance, as I wanted the MacBook to replace my 5-year old desktop PC (with a Radeon 8500). Looks like I'll just wait until January and pick up a MBP. I just can't justify buying a new machine today that is outperformed by a 5-year old PC, even if it is portable.
