The latest version of Bartender (2.1.6) will not install on my MacPro late 2013 10.11.6 system. The installer tells me that it needs to install a helper application. It goes and does the installation, then goes back and tells me that it needs to install the helper.

I found a bartender article that tells me to run:

sudo rm -rf /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.surteesstudios.Bartender.BartenderInstallHelper; sudo killall com.surteesstudios.Bartender.BartenderInstallHelper

I run the script, the file is removed. Do the installation again, same thing.

Bartender support is non existent. I have sent them 3 emails over a period of a couple of weeks without a single reply. I've always felt that it was a great product, but my opinion is changing as the product does not work and they give absolutely no help in fixing the problem.

Did you try disregarding the helper message you're getting after installation, then rebooting? It's necessary for some software.

(I have no experience with this specific software.)

Thanks for the link. That's the terminal command I was using.
