base extreme router will connect but no internet on PC

Just got my wireless router (base extreme) connected. There is no problem with connection to my HP netbook and internet works. However, there is no internet connection with my compaq presario notebook but wireless is connected.

No more support from HP since it is over a year old... Does anyone know how i can connect to internet on PC?

What Windows version do you have on that PC?

What exact router do you have and what wireless settings and what protection scheme (WPA or WEP or ...) does the router use?

airport base extreme

went through technician and was able to connect to internet with selecting NO security but with WPA, it doesn't connect to internet. i have compaq presario with home premium vista.

he said perhaps kaspersky internet protection software won't allow me to connect with security

i have no problem connecting to internet with hp mini 311 with wpa2. hp mini is windows 7
