Base Late 2019 Macbook Pro At $1199 (BestBuy & Apple Education) - Is This A Good Buy

Chiefly for this week of 9/23/2019, it appears that the base late 2019 model of the Macbook Pro Pro (i5/1.4/128gb/8gb) are on sale for $1199 at BestBuy and through the Education/Back To School deal at Apple. Is this a good deal for a causal user coming from the early 2015 base Macbook Pro?

Part of me wants to get the same version but bumped up to 256gb storage and 16gb ram, for future proofing and thinking apps and web services will be more intensive as the months roll by.

What do you guys think?

If you’re looking for a more portable machine, yes. If you’re looking for a step up in overall horsepower, no.

I would wait and see if anything comes out in October. I wouldn’t buy one right now if you don’t need to.
