My 15" MBP has been crashing almost every month for the last couple of years; I think I should ask for opinions before moving ahead. I can't tell if the OS (Mojave) is the problem or if this is a known issue with the mid-2015 model. This is the base model without a dedicated GPU chip.

The system crashes to a black screen almost always after long periods of heavy "video" consumption and external monitor swapping (i.e. swapping between different monitors at home and office). By heavy video consumption what I mean is a week of hours-long Zoom sessions due to online conferences or having multiple (>10) open Youtube tabs. The screen shows horizontal artefacts for a second and then a bit later I get a black screen of kernel panic. The system is always on and always connected to a 2nd screen, it only sleeps during transport or at night.

Thanks for listening.
